Harnessing the Power of a Small Community BEFORE you List Your Property
Gone are the days of being bullied into listing contracts or influenced by reduced commissions or seduced by the unscrupulous nature of slanderous comments made in a competitive spirit by industry professionals vying to win your listing and your business. The question all sellers MUST now ask is “What’s in it for me?”
Commissions are a massive expense and I would like to see this acknowledged more frequently. “Marketing” has little to do with the value of cost charged in my opinion. Marketing is now a cost of doing business. I hope to touch on what actually drives interest in future notes but today's blurb relates to how you, as a seller, can harness the power of our community here in Bragg Creek and Redwood Meadows before you commit to a listing contract.
With the available pathways of connection that we have now, both online and in print, I want to bring your attention to the power of community connection in a small center like ours. It would strike me as bizarre if someone you know didn’t know someone who wanted to move into our community, so why not capitalize on that and do what you can to try and retain the equity in your home that you worked so hard to build? There are so many situations where Realtors will be needed but before that happens, I encourage you to think about remaining autonomous and in charge of mitigating your profit erosion.
I encourage you to find a realtor who supports your family's prosperity by providing “outside of the box” options for you to pursue.
I encourage you to find a realtor who is committed to community and the betterment of the community as a whole.
I encourage you to find a realtor who understands and embraces a philosophy of practice based on SERVICE and PATIENCE. As society changes and morphs so do the needs of people, especially when life transitions are happening.
I want you to consider taking advantage of whatever social platforms are available to you in our great community so that you can spread the word about your home coming up for sale in order to give your family an advantage in a world where most of us could use a bit of an advantage.
In almost every sense the need for an industry professional to broker a transaction will surface, however, if the opportunity presents itself, wouldn’t you like to be the one to sell your property yourself?
Your, in truth, always,
Kathleen
